Peterborough Players is a cultural treasure; a 92-year-old, fully professional, nonprofit Equity theatre in an unexpected setting: a historic barn just three miles outside of Peterborough, NH. The theatre presents a traditional summer season of five shows from June through August, as well as Arts on Screen programming, including The Met: Live in HD operas and London’s National Theatre offerings. The Players produces professional theatre at a level of excellence that has earned it a significant national reputation. “American summer repertory theatre at its most accomplished.” — Terry Teachout, The Wall Street Journal.
“The Barn,” now renovated into a 250-seat theatre, is both a cultural and economic cornerstone. It draws audiences from across the Monadnock region and beyond, fulfilling its historic mission to “enrich the human experience by producing quality live professional theatre, developing and training theatre artists, and offering New Hampshire a wide variety of performing arts events.” The Players also trains young theatre artists through its Core Company apprenticeship program, providing hands-on experience in all aspects of the craft throughout the summer season.
As part of our deep belief that the arts should be accessible to all, we offer Players Gives outreach programs. Players Gives broadens access to live theatre by providing reduced-cost tickets to community members who might not otherwise be able to attend, while also creating partnerships and lending a helping hand to organizations doing meaningful work in the region.
The Peterborough Players is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
